That quote from a man that brought the full wrath of God with him in his march to the sea. He understood how war HAD to be fought - you make the enemy beg for cessation, and then you go a bit further to make sure they understand you mean business.

When you try to make war more"civilized" you face two enemies. The one in front of you and yourself.

CPT Jack Durish Movies & TV have not helped the fact that war is not glorious. Now, it has gotten better in the recent past as shows & movies are being a bit more realistic in their portrayal, both during & what happens after.
