Watch a U.S. C-17 Globemaster III cargo fly through the famous Star Wars Canyon in Death Valley

C17 one awesome aircraft, and played a major part in the invasion, and build up in AFG and Iraq.

Some history, the very first expeditionary Combat tactical landing in a combat zone for C-17 was in Nov 2001, Landed in a small airstrip that had been taken over by Rangers and a small SEAL PLT. The C-17 landed on D+ 3 with a Team of 30 Seabees Air Detachment NMCB 133 and their equipment, to prep for the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, that would be conducting combat operations from the very first FOB in AFG and war on terror. the team had to protect the FOB for several nights with the Rangers and worked under combat conditions until Marines arrived and swept, secured and moved Perimeter out, foe security and safety.
