The Oval Office is too large for one person to fill. Thus we elect one and get a team. Sadly, we don't get to see it on the ballot. I wish we did

"On Monday Sanders made his point a little clearer still. As Reuters reported in an exclusive to be found here, Sanders declined to join nearly the entire Senate in signing a letter urging President Obama to increase military aid to Israel by up to 50 percent from its current $3 billion yearly.

I rank these the most interesting moves any candidate has made in the course of this political season. The stance is principled in two dimensions.

One, no senator or representative has any business addressing an organization that fronts for a foreign power [AIPAC if it isn't obvious] and exists to corrupt the American political process, while mau-mauing any public figure who even daydreams of a rational conversation about the Israel-Palestine question. Whether or not we like to think about it, Americans are political captives of the Israelis, and a presidential candidate finally signaled his objection.

Two, Sanders inched a serious discussion of U.S. policies in the Middle East, which a significant proportion of us are extremely eager to have, a little closer to the surface. Apart from the freakish Russophobia cultivated among us by those benefiting from it, it is hard to think of anything more worth addressing on the foreign policy side."

Support for insane right wing Israel is a cancer on this country.

Yitzhak Rabin was shot by an Israeli because he was seeking peace with the Palestinians. Bibi is now helping Israel commit suicide.

Why does Saudi Arabia secretly and not secretly fund "Death to Israel, death to America" organizations and causes? It is because of Israel showing the dysfunctions in Arab/islamist culture. It is the same dysfunction that has the Iraqi army fleeing from a few hundred ISIS operatives.

The culture of Islam doesn't have the pith to produce effective conventional military formations.

The way to get the House of Saud to tone down its support of those who would hurt us is to become the honest broker between the Israelis and the Palestinians that we were before Israel hijacked our government.

- Full disclosure. I saw Yitzhak Rabin speak at that great state university in Knoxville in 1980.

I am glad to report that the place was packed. I had to sit in the balony. He talked about the same stuff they still talk about.

In the Q&A - you can't make it up - a student asked him, "what can a good Jewish boy do for Israel?"

This cracked everybody up.

Mr. Rabin had this deep sonorous voice. He said, "Stay in school."

THAT totally cracked the place up.

A great man and we miss him.
