I have found anytime someone says "How ______________" fill in the blank,( Stupid, Disgraceful, Stubborn, etc), people seem to go out of their way to set a new level.

Disgraced? Sure, you will get no argument from me. Their constituencies may argue - after all they keep getting elected- but I won't.
But anti- American? Let's unpack the allegations in the article, bearing in mind these are all still only allegations.
Cori Bush:
Spent lavishly on private security, probably illegally.
This is good-ol'-fashioned corruption; not anti-Americanism. And if anyone really wants to argue that corruption is anti-American, I recommend they pick up a history book.
Jamal Bowman:
Wrote a poem about a 9/11 conspiracy theory. Whoo boy. A whole lot to unpack with this one.
First: He used his freedom of speech to express a potentially unpopular opinion. That is about the most American thing you can do.
Second: He bought into a conspiracy theory. If we are going to call that anti-American, there goes about 1/4 (or more) or Trump's base - the Q club.
Third: The particular conspiracy theory he bought into - 9/11 was an inside job - is not all *that* fringe. And some of the documentaries and arguments out there are pretty convincing, if you don't know any better. The main reason I didn't fall down that rabbit hole is because I have seen behind the curtain and know there is no way we could keep a conspiracy THAT BIG under wraps. Not that we couldn't or wouldn't do this - again, I have seen behind the curtain - but that we couldn't keep a secret THAT big, with THAT many people involved actually a secret.
Fourth: This is something he did a dozen years ago. No, that doesn't make it any more or less right. But people are REALLY digging for dirt here just because they do not like a DULY ELECTED representative. If you want to look at anti-Americanism..... This feels like someone is on the road to McCarthyism again. And it ain't Bowman.
AOC:
Called for continuing funding of UNRWA despite their ties to Hamas.
Last time I checked, Israel and America were two different nations. Being anti-Israel, no matter how deplorable, does not equal being anti-American.
Ilhan Omar:
Gave a speech in which she said she would use her influence to protect Somalia.
This one would actually be anti-American, IF....
If the intentionally mis-translated speech actually said what Omar's attackers said it did. But it didn't. Nowhere near. And the free Beacon knows that, but they refuse to allow facts to get in the way of attacking a hated member of the squad.
How do I know they know? "According to a translation of Omar's speech posted on social media..." The speech was recent, sure. But the Free Beacon has had enough time to do their own translation and verify. The fact that they are still running this story with the SOCIAL MEDIA (a notoriously unreliable source) translation tells you everything you need to know.
Look, I don't like the squad or what they stand for. I disagree with just about everything they say (although even *they* drop truth nuggets here and there) and do. But the truth matters.
Additionally, as much as I dislike these folks, they are DULY ELECTED representatives. If anyone cares about America and loves her, that should mean something. If we TRULY have the best system out there, then we should honor their position, and honor the will of the people who put them there.
We don't have to respect the person, but we should respect the position.
