Well-known WWII vet dies at 96

I actually knew this gentleman. He gave a short rendition of his time as a POW, once. He once looked at me and said "I bet I have a medal you never saw anyone else have." I chimed out that it was probably the POW medal. He said yes. Said he had been captured but he didn't like their chow so he escaped. He was a very funny gentleman. I will certainly miss him.
