Wexit: How a political divide in Western Canada is driving calls for separation

In the media, it was discussed that climate change was the number #2 concern of Canadians.

In French speaking and separatist -seeking Quebec, if they had separation, they would go broke overnight. Alberta, if Alberta became independent country or became part of the USA, their oil and gas industry would subsidize all of its needs. The provinces that don't want or oil and natural gas development and who favoured
climate change mitigation and getting away from the oil industry, will be broke overnight without Alberta's oil Revenue.

To my American friends, Alberta and Saskatchewan are the Texas and Oklahoma of the Canadian oil industry. Canada has the fourth largest proven oil reserves in the world but people care more about teenage Greta thunberg and Vietnam War protester and traitor Jane Fonda saying no to oil and natural gas development.
