I have asked this question several times, only to be told to sit down and shut up.
In the Army, we are taught that successful mission planning requires a goal, realistic and measurable benchmarks of success, and a contingency plan (or several) in case your original plan fails. Apparently, we do not have any of that for Afghanistan. If we do, no one is publicizing it.
This is why Americans have "forgotten" about the troops in Afghanistan; because there is no well-known goal.

Right SGM - it's called INTEGRITY - what a concept. Either we have the National Will to go in and eradicate those Islamic Terrorist mutants or we don't. Playing for a tie wastes lives and national treasure.
