General, Gold Star dad gives moving Memorial Day speech

It made the hair on my arms stand up. He wrote it very well. "If not me, the who? If not now, then when?" Powerful and I dare not speak more lest it detract from this power.
I suppose one really doesn't know how it feels to loose a loved one until it happens to you. I have two adult children who I worry about every day, although they never get even close to an environment like Gen. Kelly's son. I admire the way the General captured his feelings in his comments. That must have been incredibly difficult for him. My heart goes out to him and his family.
it was a great speech given by a man who raised a fantastic son, almost everyone who served under him loved him. He makes some amazing points about grief and our society today. I can say I honestly cried a lot while reading the whole speech and I wish everyone in our nation could be exposed to this in hopes it would give some much needed perspective.
