Army NCOs forced out by boards must leave within 7 months

Personally, I don't have a problem with it. We joined to better our country, not necessarily ourselves. We serve at the will of the people (Congress), and agree to follow the orders of those appointed over us (President). So considering that seven months is more than civilians would get, we really can't complain. When you include the severance package, it's not that life ending deal. Most people, if done smartly, can take that severance and buy a house, education, etc in order to set themselves up for a decent post-Army life.

Also, if you're selected for QMP/QSP, there is a reason, and that reason probably isn't because you're the top performer. It's my belief that we, as individuals, are responsible for our own futures, and that includes retirement planning. Relying on someone else to do it generally results in failure.

I honestly think it's sad because now NCOs have to leave the military with no retirement after putting all those years in.
