What does a nuclear bomb sound like?

I am curious on your answer, have they shifted the design of Nuclear weapons to be primarily air burst now? When I was in the Army, they taught that the general strategy would be first an EMP blast at altitude to get rid of the electronics, followed by ground detonations of first critical military targets probably followed by civilian cities. I would suspect the Chinese probably have gone down the road of research on Neutron or enhanced radiation warheads since we banned them in the United States and it would seem more advantageous to China to invade and hold land after an attack vs just attack and stay put. I never heard that they shifted to primarily air burst warheads though.

The biggest reason for air burst is less airborne radiation contamination
The second is farther destruction
A ground burst is mainly in the general area with a dirty cloud which carries more radiation and less damage

The MOHAB does the same destruction as a 10k nuclear weapon with out the radiation It as creates EMP
