I remember seeing it there back in what I'm shocked to say is now, "the Day". It seems surreal to think of all those places... abandoned... but I suppose we always knew they would be, eventually.

In the western frontier of the US, towns sprang up seemingly overnight when gold, silver, oil or other valuable commodities were discovered. When the gold ran out, so did the people, leaving the morose remains of their short lived towns behind. The gold done ran out in Afghanistan I suppose. It was great while it lasted.
