We need consumer choice. I like the linux overview, interesting decision to embed the commercial at the end. The linux distribution is free which is great but the industry is the same as Mac and Windows, you still need maintenance and support or you must figure out how to do it yourself.
I expect Google to continue the Android development for all devices, laptops and desktop as phones are almost at equivalent processing power at the CPU level. There is a danger in going to cheap in the materials which makes me look at the low end Cromebooks as 'craptops', as they can't survive a month of real usage. Google can make money as they are paid via the search method and advertising and each device adds to the amount of search and ad space.

And it's more stable & secure than Micro$lop Windoze... tho' Win10 & Server2012 are showing promise...
