Thanks for the post. I know a lot of people struggle with resumes because of the conflicting guidances on the internet. The sad fact is we only get 6 seconds to make that impression.it is vital to grab attention for good reasons otherwise the hiring managers will not read the meat and potatoes.

Yes, a lot of conflicting info. Would be so much easier if companies would at least post on their career pages what exactly they are looking for as far as format as each of them do have a few differences they want. If you are wrong, that alone can get your resume tossed before it being reviewed.

I definitely can safely say that there is no structure in the HR world. You can have 100 of them and there would be 100 different answers. Everybody wants to reinvent the wheel.

Okay, if you can get past the manic presentation, there is some good information in this piece. However, allow me to add just one tidbit that is equally important. Remember the goal of the resume is not to get you the job, but rather to get you the interview. Thus, it should not answer all questions a prospective employer might have, but rather pique their interest to invite you in to learn more.
