It's a huge cost...I see it in the ESOL and Special Ed areas which take both time and funds away from American citizen children

The expense incurred should not be the driver of policy - after all, we just handed out $3 trillion to people. Rather, it should be about what is good for the country. Legal immigration is undeniably good for the country. One can quibble around the edges about who we let in and what qualifies one to come in, but that is on the fringe. Illegal immigration however feeds a gigantic organized crime organization in Mexico and results in rape, exploitation and misery to millions a year. When they get to the USA, they are underpaid and underserved. We need to find a "right way" to ensure that people who come here to work and pursue the American Dream can do it legally and safely.
