With major firms and their leadership (e.g., Johnson at Fidelity) showing an interest in Blockchain technology, it is time for all of us to understand the hype and the potential. Blockchain has some very interesting potential, but it can also be used to hide illegal or undesirable activity. There are already some interesting private blockchain implementations and some governments are planning on using it for digital coins.

Way, way, way to early, although I know there are some big companies putting big money into research/development. Our company is watching the development but not doing anything with it as of yet.

Bitcoin seems to have found its footing and will be very interesting to watch it moving forward. Governments that like to print money (including the US) at some point I would expect them to try and shut it down.
