That is an example of "Labeling the Headline."
I have no sympathy for the gang but the main objective of headlines like that advocate "white" "black" "mexican" etc is to separate people - not report a news item.
Why not say "*sshole thugs" - it would be more correct in my mind.

1SG (Join to see) - You know a couple of weekends ago I was out at a wilderness cabin with my wife. We only had local TV channels with regular commercials. None of them said a thing about all these news items - even their news shows.
The commercials were funny and entertaining and rarely repeated.
The News show were about events that were in the area and they were nice things.
When we got back I logged in and was immediately bombarded with all "The Drama".
I've started blocking the online news sources, FB pages and people (that repeatedly) the post them to me. I feel better.

I think they should be "labeled" to highlight the dangers facing the nation. Years back, they gangs like the KKK were kept in the shadows like a family black-sheep. People did not talk about them. So, they literally got away with murder.
Slugs should be dragged put into the light and dealt with.
