Who's in Charge of Regulating the Internet of Things?

The biggest part of this issue is that security hasn't been given proper priority since the beginning of time. Its creators warned us of the likely security issues.
I like the idea air travel regulations use - have a few companies with a checks and balances system. Each would focus on security for the end users, functionality and ease of use, or legal. Don't push for much direct help from any government. The organizations would need to be international.

The quick answer is too many people, and therefore, no one.

My answer is stay away from the bleeding edge and flashy unnecessary gadgets.
