Until Uncle Sam swapped out my M-14 for that new little black rifle, M-16, I hadn't been trained in tactical reloads due to the unwieldiness of the M-14. It was a super weapon but too cumbersome to ever need to do a fast, tactical reload. Now with the progression to the M-16 and then the M-4, things have changed considerably.

TSgt David L. I have tried 3 different times to answer this post and it keeps erasing itself. Here goes one more shot at it.
The late MSG Joe White, built M-21's for a group of 160th SOAR personnel. He also built my M-14 to M-21 specs, even changing out my standard barrel for a NM barrel. He did the glass bedding (stock & mag well), etc. but DIDN'T do the linseed treatment on the stock. All of the reaming, op rod spring replacement, etc. was done and now that I'm about to turn 72 years, it shoots a lot better than I do‼

SSG William Jones - Wow! Sounds like a sweet shooter. I'd like to get one done like that.

Joe died several years ago. He was a great guy. Ironically, his last name was White but he was as fine a black man as I ever knew. He retired at Ft. Campbell and built/upgraded M-14's until he got very sick and passed away.
