How many of you are signed up as organ donors?
I am, but never realized how close to home this cause wold end up being.
One day are started not feeling well and I didn't think to much of it. Then as the days went on I gained 20 lbs in one week. I could barely fit in my clothes and shoes. I felt so bad I could not even sit up. I went to the ER they did an ultrasound and found I had chirosis, but liver cancer. Mind you I never drank or smoked, but I was 25 lbs over weight. This was in March 2014. After two chemo treatments lots of CT and MRI's, the cancer was stopped but my liver could not repair itself and it was steadily getting sicker and i had lost lots of weight. In the mean time I was placed on the transplant list and my score was getting higher every three months.
Well after waiting a year I recieved the phone call and drove 6.5 hours to Dallas and had my liver transplanted in March 2016. I just went to my one year check and things are great.
So when you check that box or get asked the question, "Are you a donor" you never know how close to home it can truly get.
So as this link says, "donate life America" ...
