Who cares if some yard bird got a bad conduct discharge? Did they serve? Yes? OK they are a Veteran. I'm more concerned with them getting expanded health care access that was specifically denied by their discharge than I am about them getting a piece of plastic with their name and picture on it that says they served.

I want to say as it is now recipients of a General Discharge will receive entitlement to benefits such as VA medical and dental services, VA home loans and burial in national cemeteries. They will not receive educational benefits under either the Montgomery or Post-9/11 GI Bill.

For OTH - all you get is E-1

As well not sure on the specifics but I think commissioned officers cannot be given a Bad Conduct Discharge or a Dishonorable Discharge by a court-martial - they get a Dismissal.
