That might be true of senior officers but I don't believe it about the rank and file.

Many of the senior leadership may not. It is tough having to explain 20 year wars with no final outcome. It isn't fun getting pushback from your boss. Some are fully invested in the wars and other actions but have few results to point to for the blood we have lost and the money we have spent. Only a dolt cannot see that we have spent far too many trillions for almost no lasting results. Like armies in Iraq and Afghanistan that can defend their own country after 20 years of aid, support etc.
