The number one reason most veterans do not receive the disability compensation they deserve is they do not speak the VA language. An accredited County or State Service Officer can assist you and help advise you how to approach filing your claim. Don't try to do it on your own. These service officers are trained and know what it takes to get you through the system and obtain the correct rating level. It will take some effort on your part but do what they tell you. To try to go it alone and continue to bang your head against the system will only cause you to get frustrated and usually denied. As a retired County Veterans Service Officer I can tell you that lawyers in the majority of cases will not give you any advantage. The vast majority of attorneys who file claims for veterans do not have the level of training as the average VSO. Do do your self a favor; save your money and aggravation and see out and ACCREDITED VSO and get their free professional counseling. If anyone is charging you a fee for this service, they are in it for them. VSO have only one purpose, they are in it for you.
