I don't know which is worse: Young people who don't care about politics or those who are rioting over politics.

I'll do you one better: Those who are rioting over politics who didn't care enough to vote.

CPT Jack Durish it's a sad state of affairs the way I see it if you want to have a voice you need to exercise it at the polls and on the street equally if you want government to change then one must participate in the process.

PFC(VTS); you slammed that nail center-on.. Some of my Teachers in school emphasized what you stated.. a great sit-rep occurred in our town that late spring and it would mainly affect all the youth, even those that were not ‘trouble-makers’. To them they seemed not to care if some of us Had good jobs and the hours ran from 4 until late night(summer). They expected us to be of the street by 10 p.m. not many exceptions made by them ..
One council person said to find a new job like a paper-route... just be in your home by 10... even some parents were up in arms .. these were jobs they got in the same company they worked for all their life. The sit-rep got many who were in the predicament to pressure parents and to pressure the politicians... We got bosses to pressure the city fathers to adjust their politics.. The one that said find a job like a paper-route said they had to treat all youth equally...
They were right but we are not all deviant children.. We pressured them along with our bosses (one of them my Great Aunt who had a restaurant That I was employed at..
The city fathers ordered a lot of food at her Restaurant for events because she gave best prices and often did things on short notice without charging a premium up-charge.. There were some hefty council people.. Aunty threatened that might change.. if they didn’t change how they treated the future
Leaders... Even her competitors got in City Council’s business.. if they toughened curfew .. they’d have to close by 9:30 at night and that’d be disastrous for the town’s night life ..
“You guys are cutting off your nose to spite your face!” One business owner stated.. well the pressure worked and they worked out a equitable curfew .. and arrangement to have More teen nights.. of course the Police would need to activate more reserves in the summer.. maybe a few become regular officers.. .. So more job opportunities opened up on the city’s payroll.. That sit-rep was an big eye-opener for our town’s youth .. into the politics.. of what can go on if people got involved..

I agree, but point is even in United States, where voting is almost a right of passage, participation by young voters is extremely low. In Japan where the history of people being able to vote isn't as entrenched it is more understandable. Probably the real issue worldwide is why so few young people feel inclined to execute their voting freedom.

These are the ones that whine when something is not to their liking.
