They also could pay physicians what they are worth, forgive some loans...and have a physician that speaks the local dialect. Entitlements eat the budget.

Looks like Kentucky needs to focus more on the results of it's Educational system and produce more Doctors now.........huh?

Really? Came up with that all by yourself, did ya? Must have been saving it up or something
The problem isn't education by itself or that there aren't enough doctors. It getting the doctors to the places they are most needed and paying them what they are worth, which isn't the case in many of the small towns in Kentucky.

SSG Michael Hartsfield - So what your saying is you would rather take advantage of poor immigrants so that you can get cheap medical care than in improving living conditions in Kentucky via raising the bar a little? Isn't that kind of a cop out? Why wouldn't you prefer instead that Kentucky raise the bar a little to pay Doctors a living salary? Kentucky is a retirement haven because parts of it are so cheap, why can't you attract Doctors near retirement.........could it be..........lack of decent medical facilities? Is that the fault of the Doctors or the people that live there?

On the contrary. These "poor immigrants", as you would like to characterize them, have equivolent and in some cases better training than some doctors in America (I know right? How can a doctor from Pakistan have been training than an American doctor? Maybe they were trained by American or European doctors, maybe?) Also, like I said before, they are more willing to practice medicine in place American doctors won't i.e. the inner city or BFE, Kentucky which in turn justifies the need to upgrade medical facilities in places like Jackson, Hazard and where I live West Liberty, KY because those young doctors are going to live and practice there for the next 30+ years and not die off in 10 or less like the retired doctor you would want to have.
These professionals aren't the stereotypical immigrants being picked up in the back of a truck to work the fields. They are board certified professionalism that willing go into the areas many American doctors won't so they can practice their craft and help people that would have had to travel 30+miles to see a doctor otherwise. Or is that option more preferred to you as long as they "buy American?"

SSG Michael Hartsfield - H-h-m-m-m, I wouldn't go so far as to say they had better training since the U.S. University system is the best in the world AND they have to be certified to American standards before they can practice but there is nothing wrong with you thinking so I guess. I don't care where you source your Doctors from but to say we should lift a 3 month security suspension and risk the country's National Security because you think it helps you source your Doctors is a little over the line. Your also implying the only Doctors your interested in come from a handful of Middle Eastern and North African countries.......isn't that limiting yourself a little as well to medical care?
