With No Braille Option, a Blind Man Failed His Citizenship Exam

"The agent told him that he should come back for a second interview another time so the agents could waive the reading test — but only if he visited an ophthalmologist, rather than an optometrist, to certify he is 100 percent blind. Delgado, who does not have health insurance, said he could not afford to see the specialist."
I'm flabbergasted that the USCIS agent didn't believe the man wasn't 100% blind. I'm also amazed they don't already have braille tests ready on-hand; doubt he's the first blind person taking the test. I mean how many people are going to try and cheat on a test in braille?

Federal law requires that they make a reasonable accommodation for testing. Sounds like someone screwed it up. I’m sure he will be able to test again if not it could be a lawsuit.
