Battery on a LEO, Fleeing and eluding, side swiping an untold number of vehicles, and possibley fleeing the scene of an accident(s) all to avoid a possible ticket...smart move. Hopefully when finally tracked down the driver accidentally falls down several flights of stairs even though they live on the first floor.
Oh and to answer your question: the driver, and I'm sure I am a racist for thinking so.

I'd say that whether or not the cop was properly attentive to where he was going, it falls upon the driver to be aware of his presence and to be prepared to stop or avoid issues. The officer has a lot to look out for simultaneously. Drivers need to be aware when officers are out directing traffic.

Although I don't disagree with your opinion, OBVIOUSLY you didn't watch the video of what happened. Maybe you should before you voice an opinion, and you would see that he was not just simply directing traffic at an intersection, but the suspect was doing a burn out in Times Square....

You do not use a car as an aggressive weapon. Certainly not against a police officer.
