Who claims that? I know; the people that like their big screen TVs, cheap clothes, and all the other gadgets we buy from foreign countries. Easy solution; pay higher prices, buy American made products. (good luck selling that idea).

The actual institution of slavery was ended over 100 years ago, true. BUT, the aftermath, the racism, the attitude, the subjugation of minorities certainly did not. Protest today are not about slavery. They are about equality and justice.
