My points won't be below 39 but if they send me back in the 180-day time frame I will make SSG again. How did the chain of command let that person go back to the board>

No. A SGT needs six months time in grade in order to be recommended to SSG in the secondary zone. A SGT is eligible for promotion as soon as they appear on the AAA294. I would not understand why a commander would reduce a SSG and then promote them at the first opportunity. If that were the case, I’d recommend reduction and suspend it for six months effectively putting them on probation to correct their behavior.

SGM I was reduced on January 5 and my 1SG told me I can go back to the board in 90 days but my ets date was changed to Sept 27 2018

If your name shows up eligible on the AAA294, the commander can circle yes and send you to the board.
