PO3 Steven Sherrill I think the education listed is for those just moving into those fields. Experience and certifications are often considered in lieu of education.

MSgt Kevin Washer -As it should be. Certification requires dedication the same as a degree. The problem is when the middle man at HR doesn't recognize that a person with certifications can be just as valuable as a person with a degree. It is a matter of getting the resume to the person who needs to see it. It is not as big a problem with a small company, but in larger companies when they have hundreds of applicants for a position.

Except they miss the largest body shortage of all! Information Security with expected shortages of 2.1 Million bodies by 2020 and growing beyond that.. with average salaries ranging from 70 to 100s+ (thousands). When they pictured a network analyst or engineer for their Computer systems analysts position paragraph, I have to question everything else in their article. I see firsthand this shortage daily ( I work in the space)
