Can I get out of an SFAS slot to attend Ranger School without losing my opportunity to attend SFAS in the future?

SFAS is completely voluntary. You can absolutely tell your SFAS recruiter that you aren't ready and would like to reschedule later. The only way you'll hurt your future chances is if you just no-show the class, or you go and get a Never to Return.

Ranger qualified candidates have a much higher selection rate than their peers, in fact, every single one of us was selected in my SFAS. However, Ranger School will beat you up, and you'll be looking at a wait of at least six months after graduation before you're ready for SFAS. Realistically, probably a year from now if you get a class seat soon.
