I'm going into my MS4 year in Army ROTC and soon we will input our final branch preferences. I still have some questions about a few in order to make my final decision. If there are any Armor Officers out there that could answer any of these, it would be greatly appreciated!
What is your daily life like? What opportunities do you have in ABOLC and there after? Are you expected to attend Ranger School, ARC, SLC, Airborne, etc? What types of assignments can you expect and what determines which ones you receive? How do you get into a Cav unit if you want that? Also if there's anyone out there that has served in the Infantry and Armor, can you tell me what the key differences are in your daily life?

Cav and Armor assignments are luck of the draw for Officers. I believe all Armor Officers (def the ones going to Light Cav units) will attend ARC before PCSing. You can always tell the cherry louey who didn't get through ARC because he's the one with the Ranger tab.
Or you end up in tanks....keep track of your PC.

LTC Jason Mackay - We put! An Officer who partakes in those things like changing track, the wash rack, etc would be loved by his/her troops!!
Don't be "too cool" for getting dirty!
