Interested in lat-move to Marine CID [5821] in the SMCR, can anyone shed some light?

I am a reservist (non-MP type) interested in lat-moving to Marine CID in the SMCR. What do opportunities for deployments, conus, and oconus assignments look like? What can actual deployments for 5821's look like?

First of the bat, you have to be a 5811, MP, first and a certain rank to be a 5821. You might want to check with your career planner so you can latmove to become an MP then you can pursue the CID gig.

They changed it to allow non 5811’s to lat move directly into 5821. At least they were doing that in 2008-09 I can recall.
