Currently in active duty, am I able to go into the reserves when I re-enlist for that new job? In the process to getting a new job. I don’t want to stay active and I know I can’t go into the national guard. Am I able to go into the reserves?

No. You are no longer qualified in your MOS, so you can’t transfer into the USAR or the ARNG.
You’ll be given a new MOS and attend training and PCS along with it. If you have to reenlist to meet the SRR for the training or the PCS then you’ll have to reenlist. You cannot reenlist into the reserves, that’s not what re-enlisting means.
You can decline to reenlist when you get your new MOS, and then the Army will give you a new MOS of 09U and your new ETS will be 270 days later. 09U means not qualified in any MOS.

If declining a new MOS and getting the 6 month ETS timeline, what kind of discharge is that? would one still qualify for a MEB?

SGT (Join to see) last I knew, Reserves are an option. Do you have a critical skill? Talk to the reserve recruiter.

I currently have multiple job options. My career counselor in my unit saids he doesn’t know. Then just now he said I’m pending MAR2 so I can’t do it. Idk if he just wants to get his numbers but it’s kinda a big thing
