My husband and I are dual military. I'm a 35N and he is a 31B. Due to the nature of my MOS, I can PCS to Airforce bases in addition to Army bases. I would like to try for MacDill AFB in Tampa, FL but the problem is there are no Army bases near there for my husband to PCS to, however, there is a Reserve base called Lovejoy Reserve Center. My question is this: Can an active duty SM get orders to be stationed at a reserve unit? I would like to think MP's are needed at every Army center/installation, but I've learned not to "assume" anything when it comes to the military. Thank you in advance!

Unfortunately that is a no... two different components of the Army... if he went reserve and then go AGR, he would go active duty, but the problem with the Federal Law is that AGR even with 20 years do not get Veteran status... the only thing is find a place in between an Air Base and an Army Post to where both of you can travel to... best of luck

There’s a CID office in Lakeland which is 30 mins from Tampa. He could possibly get a DST slot if there is any. However it’s a small office and not sure if they even have a DST.

Tell him to see the Det SGT/Recruiting Coordinator. I’m also available to answer any questions.

Macdill has an army PSD team for CENTCOM and Miami has a team for SOUTHCOM(I was on the team for 3 years).

You could maybe try for a National Guard post. If I'm not mistaken they do have a few active slots for each unit. Not sure about 31B specifically thought but I cant imagine NG posts not having security.
