Talking to recruiter about Prior Service Business Rules and getting back into active duty. One MOS that might be possible is 46Q - soon to be 46S.
Any former/current public affairs soldiers around willing to share their experience with the job? How is the promotion environment? Are there good opportunities out there for deployments/travel?
Just looking for some insight. I honestly don't recall coming across any PA spec or PAO in my previous tours. I did see some combat camera soldiers down range but i'm assuming Public Affairs is a fairly small community.

It’s a very small community but full of good job opportunities as long as you do what you need to do training and educational wise.
Continue to talk to the Branch Manager for broadening assignments and grow your experiences and skills when you can.

AIT for the Army side is the shortest out of all 4 branches. I’m currently PA, and have been for about 6 years. I reclassify from Combat Engineer. I love my job and am glad I made the switch! Hopefully you can find someone who is PA near you and talk face to face to get some solid answers.

Does anyone know what the current DINFOS AIT looks like? Do they only focus on technical or do they continue to test on weapons, land nav, tactics FTX? I'm trying to collect info on what sort of environment it has become. My AIT was way back in 2007, so I'm a bit out of touch with the training environment.

SGT (Join to see) - What is the current 46Q/R/S promotion environment like? I hear it is hard to make rank with such a small, competitive community. This is still at the top of my list for re-classing if I get waived back in under the current PSBR.
