Gentleman/Ladies,
Let me preface by saying I am entering a Bradley Scout Recon Platoon, so specifically am looking for advice in this corner. The lean Army is not just coming, even as a relatively young Lieutenant, am aware the lean Army is here - and it's affects are becoming very obvious. The positive side to this, is that it creates opportunities for innovative and ingenious leaders to work with limited resources to continue to meet METL requirements. I would like to pose a few questions, and collectively generate answers/discussion about training - with the focus on the SMALL UNIT LEADER, Platoon size elements and below.
What are some cost-effective training opportunities you have used in the past and were successful? Not Successful?
What are some training events you have wanted to try, but felt you could not for any number of reasons?
Is there a specific location/cluster of information on the internet where leaders can finding training catalogs catered to these resource constrictions?
Who is a good POC within the Unit or on your Post that can help identify these training opportunities?
Will training be pushed more and more to virtual training (AGST, BATS, VBS2?) and is this training acceptable?
