With the 68L MOS after basic and school is it the same as a Bashlor degree in occupational therapy assistant? After the school could I take the occupational therapy assistant state test? Or would I have to continue going to school and if so how long?

No, after graduating from the school you will receive an Associates of Health Science from the University of the Incarnate Word. This was changed in 2014 but is still a certificate course. You must meet the college pre-requisites to earn the degree prior to going to the school or they'll send you home.

Then you will be allowed to take the national examination. After you pass the national exam, costs 500 bucks, you will be certified and then can be licensed in states, but you have to meet the state's requirements to be licensed.

I don't think you receive an associates from that University anymore. But yes, you should get an associate's degree once everything is complete, not sure of the partnered school nowadays. You do have to have some college courses prior to attending the school.

You can and should contact a recruiter and have them contact the schoolhouse to make sure, but i'm pretty certain this is the case. Very enjoyable profession in my opinion.

Thanks that info helped a lot. I am looking to become a 68 lima, I already have a BS degree. My overall goal is to become an Occupational Therapist. I also was wondering if you could take the exam for the Occupational therapist assistant, once training was completed!

Not unless you know how to spell, "BACHELOR" first, then go from there to find out?

34 weeks of training and you want a bachelors. The key word in the MOS is Assistant.
