So for the past year I have wanted to reclass to 68C. When I went to retention they told me all the seats were full. Now they told me there is seats available. Considering I am already a 68 series, what is the probablity of AMEDD selecting or approving me to Reclass from 68w to 68c? will rank be an issue? I have heard conflicting information about this and I do not want to get my hopes up. My company commander has already signed my rank waiver but I have a feeling AMEDD is not really choosing 68W Sergeants to fill the seats. Is there anything I can do to stand out in the selection process? I have one combat deployment as a medic, not sure if that is relevant to the selection. Any information or clarity would be helpful. Thanks in advance

There is no selection process, your commander does approve your rank waiver, and AMEDD does not make the decision.
You will need a grade waiver from the 68C MOS proponent. You'll probably get that. Then it will come down to the strengths of the MOS, which will be determined by strengths management.

You just need a memo from the 68C proponent. Once he receives your 4187 you can submit that to your career counselor and request 68C. The last one I saw only took a week or two to come back from the proponent.
I'm assuming you sent it to the proponent directly, and not HRC. S1s tend to do that sometimes.

From what the Career counselor informed me, there was plenty of seats but I know 68C is a highly sought out MOS. I may be overthinking it but I was just worried the slots would filled fast and I would lose my slot to an IET soldier

It is a school with limited slots. They go very quickly. Most of the students ate are dedicated to IET with a small portion going to Reclass.

SGT Hernandez, I agree with the privious comment, you will require a waiver from CMF 68 proponent. As of last week, there were seats available for 68C training.

Make an appointment to see your BN S2 to initiate your security clearance application/inventigation. The S2 will give you more details as of how long it takes and so forth.

You could re-enlist for two years and after that submit a voluntary reclassification throu your BN Career Counselor. I have done many of them in the past for my Soldiers.
