It's a tough course for most people. One day you're going over 100 pages of information and end up having an exam the next day or two. Also you get there fails throughout the course youre out. It's fun but it takes massive dedication

Sorry for the delayed response, I hope this information is still useful to you.
As a 68X10, if you're at a large post you'll most likely be relegated to intakes and paperwork. The job is a great deal of paperwork. If you show an aptitude for patient care a desire to work with SM's, a good NCO will usually let you do intakes. The fewer 68X's there are, the more work there will be, you will most likely be working with a lot of providers, and only one of you. I would say the amount of patient care you do depends on how busy your clinic is. It's a bit of a coin toss, depending on where you end up after AIT. If you want to get into social work and you have good grades in college, you can apply for what is called the Social Work Internship Program: SWIP. It's very competitive, but by the end of it you'll be a 1LT with a masters in Social Work. I hope that helps!

I have a solider reclassing to this mos she wants to know what is the packing list for the AIT portion?

Could take a year just to get a class, it all depends. Once your window opens, go and check for availability. The course is not always guaranteed. Keep checking up with retention. Also, depends if your 1SG and CO agree to signing off. Usually they are pretty good about it. SGT (Join to see)
