What is the expected current wait time once I submit a direct commission packet in January 2024?

I am working on a direct commission packet with an AMEDD recruiter who recommended 72D. I have 11 years as an NCO, transitioned from Army Reserves to regular army. Lost some TIS, so ok with that, just finished my BS so working to plan my next steps as a potential officer. What does the current time frame look like from Packet submission to selection and notification right now?

SSG (Join to see), if selected by the AECP selection board, I think their goal is to contact you within 60 days of the board adjournment. The board convenes in September each year, but there are many factors that could cause a longer wait time for notification. If selected (and you accept) your DCC & BOLC class start dates would be sometime between Jan-Sep. I presume that you are competing for the FY25 board as the FY24 selection board has already met (completed this month actually). See FY24 MILPER Message 22-411. FY25 selection should convene in September 2024.

AMEDD Recruiter should keep you posted. Have you met with AMEDD Counselor for interview. Should have a business card.

If you are not getting frequent updates from your recruiter, I would be anxious. If you don't have contact info for your AMEDD Counselor, contact regional Medical Recruiting Batallion. Recruiting.army.mil.mrb

I will reach out to the AMEDD Counselor this week. I didn’t realize that was an option. I know everything else has career counselors, but it’s been few and between as I get my stuff together.

SSG (Join to see) Sir, seems I pushed a little too hard, my recruiters NXOIC called me saying I need to check my stuff for accuracy, what they were looking for didn’t exactly fit what I have completed, but I don’t plan on taking more classes (would take me roughly 5 more months to get the “preferred” classes to boost my gpa..
