Which is a better career field for air guard 2t2 air transportation or fuels (POL) pros cons?

Transferring from army national guard to air guard which is better job to get foot in the door

Air Trans has a wider ranging number of responsibilities. Also allows for better deployments and TDYs in my opinion. Also, you don’t have to deal with that smell as much. However anytime you are on the flight line you will experience that. It also would allow for more civilian job opportunities in the future. There are many aspects of Air Transportation out there vs just refueling planes. Both would allow for job opportunities but air trans allows for more future options and higher paying jobs. Transferring to the air guard is an excellent idea, especially if you are concerned about family. If you go air trans, I recommend seeking as many training/certification options as they will allow you. Things such as load planning, hazmat certification, etc, these will open up many opportunities for you

Both are available I was looking for into ground trans or mechanic but those are not available att both seem interesting but the videos on YouTube never show how it really is but I’m also comparing to my experience with the army…

SrA (Join to see) - Does the Air Transportation involve being assigned an aircraft frame that you would fly on? If so, I would rather do that instead of smelling like fuel all day.

2T2s process cargo and load airplanes. I did it for 32 years in Charleston, Langley, and Pope AFB as a reservist.
