Hello, sorry for the silly question. I was shown the g1 self-service portal and that was the extent of the knowledge given to me about promoting from O1 to O2.
"Awaiting scrolling and DoD approvals; L02-23; 0 Days in DoD Approval cycle"
Could anyone break this down for me? From researching online, I gathered that there is a delay in the process.

This article explains it pretty well. In short, since you are not a federal Soldier your promotion has to be approved by the federal government. You name gets added to a scroll and has to be approved by congress. This can take months. The article said it can take up to a year. If you are promoted in your state you can wear the rank. If you were activated in a title 10 status you would revert back to you federally recognized rank. Luckily, POTUS is trying to address this delay. I was in the Guard as a officer for a while and this was an extremely frustrating system that doesn't need to be.

Thank you, Sir, that was very helpful. I have been mobilized with my unit since Oct 2022 and my 18-month mark since commissioning was in last month Jan 2023.

2LT (Join to see) - In that case this would affect you. I was title 10 and 32 when I was in the Guard. Luckily, 1LT is the only one that you can get back pay for. I was in Ranger School and thought my state would hook me up. After, I got back with my tab I thought I was going to get pinned right away. Nope, they forgot about me. In a few months I was promoted and I got all of my back pay from when I was in Ranger School due to my promotion date being when I was in Ranger School. After 1LT, they don't provide back pay.
