Do I have to wait until my re enlistment effective date to receive my affiliation bonus?

I’m being told I have to wait until Feb27 of 2021 to receive my affiliation bonus. I had to get a six month extension in the IRR to be able to qualify for the bonus. I did my PHA and passed my APFT. Only requirement left to get the bonus submitted was to re enlist, which I did today. So I agreed to do the time and completed everything else. Why do I have to wait until my extension period is up and the re enlistment effective date to take place for me to receive my pay? It’s not a re enlistment bonus but an affiliation bonus. Somebody help me make sense of this, please.( Army reserves)

You extended in the IRR, you don't get a bonus in the IRR. Also, look at your contract, it should take effect when your new contract starts.

I’ve been going to drill with my reserve unit since June. So I’m still IRR but required to attend drill? It’s like I’m stuck in the middle. Feb 27 is when the re enlistment takes effect.
