This is a bit of an update on a story I posted a couple months ago. France has just one Aircraft Carrier and when they need to take it out of service for maintenance their pilots, aircrew and maintenance personnel run the risk of losing critical skills. As we have done in the past the U.S. Navy is providing assistance and allowing the French Naval Aviation forces to train and operate from our bases and carriers to keep their skills sharp.
I think it's a great idea, helps an ally and gives our own forces some valuable experience.

Despite all the bad media we had from France against Bush and Trump the French people for the most part still have respect for what the USA has done for them in the past as we should for what the French did for us in 1775.

The are respectful of our military, They just feel no obligation to make the same mistakes as we do. the backed us in Afghanistan and not in Iraq because in the first were attacked and in the second we were the attacker. Alongside us In Korea and not in Vietnam for another example.

Yep, there is good synergy there because France is the only other country besides us that operates CATOBAR (Catapult Assisted Take-Off But Arrested Recovery) Aircraft Carriers.
