Are you one of the estimated > 900 former MMAC (Military Medics & Corpsmen) that in Howard County, MD or in any of the tangential counties surrounding Howard County?
If so, a new Premiere Health Express Clinic will be opening on 01 August 2018 in Columbia. Two form US Air Force Drs are looking for former MMACs from all branches (USA, USN, USAF, USCG). Their will be volunteer and paid positions available for former honorably discharged or retired MMACs to staff this clinic and work with physicians that value your skills.
A website will up soon where you can download the interest form and register.
Here are the MOC (Military Occupation Codes) being initially sought:
US Army (Medics): MOS – 68C; MOS – 68Z; MOS – 68W; MOS – 68G; MOS – 68S
US Navy (Corpsmen): HM-8432; HM-8404; HM-8402; HM-8403; HM-8425; HM-8427; HM-0000 (> 4 years experience)
US Air Force (Medics): AFSC – 4N0X; AFSC - 4E0X1; AFSC - 4A0X1; AFSC – 4M0X; AFSC – 4R0X1
US Coast Guard (Health Specialist): HS - ID; HS – GD (> 4 years experience)
In the mean time you can do the following:
(1) Order your DD-214 if you don't have it (https://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records)
(2) Obtain your JST (Joint Services Training) transcript if you don't have it (https://jst.doded.mil/smart/dodMandatoryBannerForm/submit.do)
(3) Draft your 1-page statement that includes your, phone and email contact information and why you would be interested and committed to being a PHEC MMAC Volunteer (or if you are seeking employment)
Premier Health Express Clinic, American Diversity Group and the Warrior Centric Healthcare Foundation have partnered to ensure broad outreach to our Veterans and their families and underserved communities. By reaching out to former MMACs the hope by the clinic founders is to work with MMACs in such a way so as to bring more vets and vet families to this facility for care. Engaging former honorably discharged / retired MMACs offer the new clinic a heads up on being able to work area veterans in need of coordinated care.
