Thanks for your take on this. As much of a WWII history buff as I am, at those prices I'd rather buy a Kimber .45 new.

Owning a piece of history may be nice, but selling broken down junk for a grand?
I was able to qualify with both the 1911 and the M9 in AIT. It literally took two 1911s to finish the course. I had to manually hit the rear of the slide to fully chamber a round after each shot before it locked up entirely.
I shot a 27/50 with the 1911...then 50/50 with the brand spanking new M9.
