Alaska's Crow Pass, a recovery milestone. After several back accidents in the Army I managed to build up strength and endurance to do this. Thanks to Healing Hearts of Alaska and Wounded Warrior Project for the opportunity. We backpacked from Girdwood to Eagle River (26 miles).

SSG Carlos Madden - The backpack was a free rental form REI who also supported the event. I honestly do not remember the type of backpack. I did love it. I could pack a lot and still be comfortable.

MAJ Raúl Rovira - I've actually been in that area. Stayed at Alyeska, fished in Bird Creek and watched the bore tide come in. Beautiful area.

SSG Carlos Madden - I have not done the bore tide watching yet. On the to-do list. If you find yourself with a long layover in Alaska drop me a line.
