As a 35F assigned to a CID unit will my duties align more with security management or intelligence? I've been placed on assignment to a CID unit in JBLM and looking for info because I will have spent 3 years in a BN S2 and would like a more intel focused job.
Also, for someone applying for a civilian intel job would being in the reserves to kept the security clearance active make employers more willing to hire them or scare them away?

I can't speak to the 35F MOS however bring in the reserves to maintain your clearance is a common occurrence and most employers tend to prefer it because they don't have to spend the money on it. Also most civilian orgs (especially if working with the military) tend to have incentive programs if in the reserves, like paid leave for activation.

Stay in the Reserves to keep the clearance, very common practice.

In regards to 35F in CID, you definitely will be doing some S2 security management, clearance and the like. They do have some positions and or units that work their 35F Soldiers in Intel Spt to LE, but you would have to contact the S2 NCOIc at your specific unit to ID your possibilities and lobby to work outside the 2 office. If you can’t, work it well and make a difference and seek positions in one of the BCTs or 1st Group at JBLM after to get some broadening away from security management :)

by the time I PCS I will have spent about 2 years as a BN S2 NCOIC. I will be assuming the position of S2 NCOIC again in JBLM as a SGT. I'm just hesitant about serving in that role again because of my experience in my current unit. There isn't any intelligence training in the BDE, my BN refuses to send me to intelligence schools, and they refuse to consider moving me elsewhere. unfortunately our intelligence contribution is limited to PIRs and playing the role of weatherman. Thank you for the insight!
