The neverending question to drill or to recruit? The hard to swallow pill for former drills is that, drills have ucmj on their side. It's easy to scream and smoke people to make them follow orders when you can punish them. In the other hand, to be a recruiter you require exceptional leadership skills, the ability to earn the trust from your applicants within days if not hours. A recruiter is the face of the army, you provide the force! Either one can make you or break you. As a former recruiter, I would tell you, talk to former drills and former recruiters. Call a recruiting office in your state, and ask them for their honest opinion. If you wish, you can send me an email with some questions and I will give you my honest opinion. But don't forget about other options like instructors and defense attache.
