This hazardous weather outlook is for eastern Utah and western
Colorado.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Fire danger is critical today across most of western Colorado and
eastern Utah below 7,000 feet as dry and windy conditions develop
this afternoon and early evening.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

Thunderstorm coverage will remain very isolated into the mid to
late week period. Lightning and gusty winds will be the main
threats. Elevated fire danger is expected through the week as dry
and breezy afternoons set up in the lower valleys.

...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 8 PM MDT
TODAY FOR DRY FUELS, WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR FIRE
WEATHER ZONES 200, 202, 203 BELOW 7000 FEET, 290, 292 AND 207 IN
WESTERN COLORADO AND FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 486, 487, 490 AND 491
BELOW 7000 FEET IN EASTERN UTAH...

.Critical fire weather conditions are expected this afternoon and
evening as as dry, breezy and very warm conditions continue
across eastern UT and western CO. Conditions may still be
borderline in far southeast UT and southwest CO where winds and
RH may be around or slightly below criteria. Isolated storms are
possible over the San Juan mountains as well. High pressure will
build over all of the western U.S. by the end of the week
continuing the hot and dry conditions. Sunday afternoon will bring
the next chance of rain, with chances increasing a bit each day
next week.

THIS EVENING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR FIRE WEATHER
ZONE 203 BELOW 7000 FEET...

* AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 203 Lower
Colorado River below 7000 feet.

* WINDS...Southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...6 to 13 percent.

* IMPACTS...Conditions will be favorable for the rapid ignition,
growth, and spread of fires. Agricultural burning is strongly
discouraged.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
